Obituary for Evelyn Long “Cookie” Kilpatrick

COLUMBIA. . .Evelyn Long “Cookie” Kilpatrick, a resident of Columbia, died Tuesday morning, December 19, 2023, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center in Dothan. She was 82.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 23, 2023, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, near Columbia, with Pastor Vann Cooley officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3894 Ebenezer Road, Columbia, AL 36319.
Mrs. Kilpatrick was born in Jacksonville, Florida and moved with her family to Panama City, Florida as a teenager. She was the daughter of the late Allen Kenneth Long and Lois Overstreet Long. Mrs. Kilpatrick lived in Columbia since 1972 where she was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Kilpatrick, a son, Dennis Gregory Kilpatrick and two brothers, Kenneth Williams and Michael Long.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Pam Brogden, Dothan; a son, Tommy Kilpatrick (Pam), Montgomery; a daughter-in-law, Jill Kilpatrick, North Carolina; a sister, Linda Cooley, Dothan; sisters-in-law, Vaudell Hicks (Jimmy), Columbia; and Carolyn Kilpatrick, Dothan; grandchildren, Ashleigh Ellenburg (Shane), Jordan Duke (Megan Warner), Lauren Julian (Lee), Chelsie Coscette (John), Kristian Kilpatrick (Lakin), Kristen Kilpatrick, Kacey Kilpatrick and Kael Kilpatrick; great-grandchildren, Slade Julian, Blakely Julian, Emmett Coscette, Sal Coscette, Adeline Kilpatrick, Parker Ellenburg, Delaney Ellenburg, Dawson Ellenburg, Colton Duke, Ava Vasquez, Austin Vasquez and Asher Vasquez.
