Obituary for Karl Joseph Maucher Sr.

MIDLAND CITY. . . Karl Joseph Maucher, Sr., a resident of Midland City, died late Saturday night, March 25, 2023, at his home. He was 93.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Michael Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

Mr. Maucher was born and reared in Wilmington, Delaware, son of the late Karl Maucher and Antonie Mayser Maucher. He was a graduate of P.S. Dupont High School in Wilmington, Delaware and attended the University of Delaware. Mr. Maucher served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Granite-Corinthian Masonic Lodge No. 34 and the V.F.W. Post No. 11197 both in Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Maucher retired from Union Park Pontiac in Wilmington as an Auto Body Technician after twenty-two years employment. In earlier years, he was employed by General Motors in Wilmington. Mr. Maucher lived in Claymont, Delaware before moving to Dale County in the Sylvan Grove Community in 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Wood Maucher, two sisters Mary Weaver and Gertrude Murphy and a brother, John Maucher.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Heidi Ross (Brad), Midland City; and Melinda Vay Da, Midland City; a son, Karl J. Maucher, Jr. (Sharon) Bluffton, SC; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
