Obituary for Shirley Skeen Glover

PANSEY, ALABAMA. . .Shirley Skeen Glover, a resident of Pansey, passed away Tuesday morning, October 10, 2023, at her home. She was 79.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 13, 2023, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Don McCall officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Cowarts. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.

Shirley Glover was born and raised in Houston County, between Cowarts and Dothan. She was a graduate of Wallace Community College where she majored in Cosmetology and was also a graduate of Riley Business College. Shirley was employed by Spun Steel for nineteen years. In earlier years, she worked for Wex-Tex Mfg. Company in Ashford. Shirley was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Wayne Glover, her father, Huey Lee Skeen, her mother, Inez Davis Alley, her step-father who helped to raise Shirley, Earl Alley, a nephew, Christopher Lee Skeen, a sister-in-law, Joyce Skeen and a great niece, Jamie Ruppel.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Bonnie Glover Baxley (Timmy), Dothan; two sons, Tommy Glover (TeLisa), Ariton; and Greg Glover (Holly), Loveland, Ohio; a dearly beloved brother, Thomas “Buddy” Skeen, Napier Field; and two special sisters-in-love, Omega Glover Casey and Reba Glover Scott; grandchildren, Brooks Glover, Mason Glover (Kaley), Joshua Peterson, Rachel Glover, Alicia Glover, Sara Sanders (Jonathan), and Emily Davis (Adam); great-grandchildren, McKenna Glover, Greer Glover, Ivey Sanders, Ellie Sanders, Maverick Davis, and one great-grandchild on the way; nieces and nephews, Mark Skeen, Traci Skeen Ballard, Joanna Ruppel Green (Aaron), Jennifer Ruppel Geri, Lillie Skeen, McAllister Skeen, Sarah Skeen and Kendyl Skeen and several other special nieces and nephews from the Glover family, and especially her loving canine friend, “Bandit”
The family would like to express their appreciation and special thank you to Dr. Ryan Conner, Justin Casey, staff of Fairview Clinic, Dr. Hewitt, all the nurses at Southeast Health and Covenant Care for the loving care and kindness shown to Shirley during her illness.
